MS. CLarke
ISS TEACHER | ENGLISH
Ms. Chevaughn Clarke is an ISS and ELA teacher whose approach to students is rooted in authenticity, encouragement, and genuine relatability. With a background in counseling, she brings a depth of emotional awareness to her work that students feel from day one. Each morning, Ms. Clarke sends her students motivational messages and starts her own day with a gratitude list — a practice that shapes how she shows up for her scholars. Students describe her as real, reserved, and someone who means what she says. She is an identical twin, a mother to grown children, and an avid reader and poet outside the classroom. Her signature reminder to students — "Act your age and not your shoe size" — reflects her no-nonsense but caring style. Ms. Clarke's goal for every student is that their sense of purpose becomes a little clearer through their time with her. She believes teenagers succeed when the adults around them are their authentic selves.
