MR. HARRIS

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR | CULINARY ARTS TEACHER

Mr. Rich Harris brings creative energy, life experience, and genuine care to everything he does at BCHS. As both a Community Coordinator and instructor of Culinary Arts and Media Arts, he meets students at the intersection of craft and character — helping them discover their voice in the world. Students rely on Mr. Harris for support, life advice, guidance, and accountability. Each day, he focuses on one question: how can he move the needle and get scholars more deeply engaged with their work? He lives by the reminder he passes on to students: "Take care of what you have to on the front end, so you can chill on the back end." Away from school, Mr. Harris paints, writes, listens to music, and throws around a football — and yes, he has cooked for celebrities. His goal for every student is simple: to connect, to understand, and to feel understood. He believes teenagers succeed when adults show up and champion their strengths.
