Ms. sTEINER

Social Studies Teacher

Ms. Robyn Steiner is one of BCHS's most tenured educators — having been with the school since it was first founded. A member of the Social Studies Department and its lead, she brings an extraordinary depth of experience and intellectual rigor to her classroom. Ms. Steiner holds a B.A. in Political Science and English from the University at Buffalo, a J.D. from Cornell Law School, a post-master's teaching certification from Manhattanville College, and a Master's in School Leadership from Hunter College. She practiced labor and employment law for four years before transitioning to education — and is also a certified personal trainer. Students can rely on her for both academic and social-emotional support, and she pushes them to think critically about news and social media rather than accepting information at face value. She is demanding, but always supportive and understanding — and she never lets students forget that the only way you improve at anything is through practice. She believes teenagers succeed when adults demand, support, and understand.
