MS. Sedibeh

ADVOCATE COUNSELOR | MISSION SOCIETY

Ms. Jajumeh Sedibeh is an Advocate Counselor with BCHS through the Mission Society of New York City, where she shows up every morning at the sign-in table ready to welcome students into the building. Before joining the Mission Society, she spent eight years working in ACS/CPS foster care — experience that gives her a deep, practical understanding of what young people carry into school each day. Ms. Sedibeh holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Mercy College and is preparing to pursue her Master's in Social Work. Her message to students is simple and consistent: "You got this." Outside of school, she prioritizes self-care — and students are always a little surprised to learn she has a son. She believes teenagers succeed when adults encourage growth by praising effort, resilience, and progress rather than perfection.
