MS. SIMS

PARENT COORDINATOR

Ms. Kenya Sims is BCHS's Parent Coordinator and a proud product of both Harlem and the Bronx. Before joining the school, she ran her own business, worked in community service, and built the kind of real-world experience that makes her advice to students genuinely useful. She is old school in the best way — holding students to the standard of saying hello before making a request, and reminding them that showing respect goes a long way in life. On any given day, you'll find Ms. Sims handling attendance, distributing OMNY cards, talking with parents, and laughing with students in the hallway. Born in Buffalo, she attended the University of Miami before transferring to Syracuse University and is a mother of three who values integrity, loyalty, family, and compassion. Students are routinely surprised to learn she is older than she looks. Her goal for every student: a friendly smile and one solid piece of life advice. She believes teenagers succeed when adults build trust.
