MS. CUEVAS

Instructional Support Teacher (Math) | Junior House Leader & UFT Chapter Leader

Ms. Erica Cuevas-Rodriguez wears many hats at BCHS — and she handles all of them with the dependability, care, and old-school accountability that students quickly come to respect. As an Instructional Support Teacher in the Math Department, Junior House Leader, and UFT Chapter Leader, she is deeply embedded in the daily life of the school — sending morning reminders to her junior team, checking in with staff and students, and running into Algebra and Geometry classes throughout the day. Before joining BCHS, she gained experience in both counseling and education. Beyond math, Ms. Cuevas-Rodriguez helps students build responsibility, time management, emotional intelligence, and real leadership skills. She is also a grandmother, has two adult children, and has gone skydiving — and would absolutely do it again. Her goal for every student is confidence, better decision-making, and finding joy in daily life. She believes teenagers succeed when adults show compassion, understanding, and patience.
