SUSTITUTE TEACHER

Jason Smith serves as a Substitute Teacher and Teacher Support at Bronx Community High School, where scholars can always count on him for support and guidance. A proud graduate of Delaware State University, he previously served his alma mater as an Admissions Counselor before teaching at a local elementary charter school. On any given day, you will find Mr. Smith at the sign-in table, in the hallways, or in the weight room, reminding students, "You need a pass!" Known for being funny, charismatic, and optimistic, he teaches scholars that "the world is your classroom," because you never stop learning and never stop growing. Outside of school, he enjoys basketball, gaming, and spending time with family, and students are often surprised to learn that he is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and served as the 17th Mister Delaware State University (2021–2022). Mr. Smith believes teenagers succeed when adults support and guide them, and his goal is for every scholar to leave feeling encouraged, safe, and, most of all, seen.
